Collybia rancida (Fr.) Quél. syn. Lyophyllum rancidum (Fr.) Sing. Collybie ŕ odeur de rance, Ranziger Rübling, Gyökerező szürkefülőke, Wortelende grauwkop. Cap 1–4cm across, umbonate, leaden-grey with a whitish bloom at first, shiny when wet. Stem 40–80 x 3–7mm, concolorous with cap, the lower part covered in a dense white tomentum passing into the long rooting base. Flesh greyish. Taste and smell strongly of rancid meal. Gills free, crowded, grey. Spore print white. Spores ellipsoid 7–8 x 3–4.5m. Habitat solitary in deciduous woodland. Season early autumn to early winter. Rare. Not edible due to rancid taste. Distribution, America and Europe. |
